The Green, wide-brimmed hat with tassels is known as a Galero. Bishops traditionally wore a galero of green color.
The star symbolizes following Christ and making Him the center of our life.
The Nativity of Christ reminds us that as we are born into this world, Christ comes into our life.
The Wise Men followed Christ just as we are called to follow Christ in the cloud of life.
The Crucifixion in Archbishop Vittorio's crest, symbolizes that in life there are many trials and tribulations. It is a reminder that we must live through them in joy and peace.
The Resurrection of Christ is depicted in the crest to always be a reminder that we are lifted up out of the tombs of life through the Resurrection of Christ.
Archbishop Vittorio's motto is "Et Spiritus Sanctus." Everything is through the Holy Spirit.
Archbishop Vittorio has served in a variety of ministries for several years prior to his Consecration to the Episcopacy. He has served in parochial and diocesan administration, youth ministry, nursing home ministry, and outreach to the poor and homeless, etc.
